In this latest spotlight, we chat to Dan The Rapperman (who has Cerebral Palsy) about his music, and inspirations.
S] What things are inspiring your music now, in terms of themes?
I would say UK hip-hop and grime.
S] What are the biggest challenges that you face?
Not letting my disability get in the way doing something that i love to do rap also through my music i’m able to put smiles on my fan’s faces.
S] How do you define success?
I think, being Hull’s, and the UK’s first successful rapper [with a disability] and a loving and loyal support, also I would just like to say thank you to my mum who has stood by me through the great times, and the bad times.
S] What are your plans for the rest of this year?
Well, my plans for the rest of this year are to finish an album then, and keep my musical journey going by writing some new material.
S] What message do you have to other disabled musicians?
My message for other disabled musicians would be this: do not let your disability stop you from reaching your musical goals, no matter how hard life gets, you will be the next one able to put smiles on people’s faces.
